Job Profile:

The role requires conducting thorough industry and financial research to estimate key performance metrics such as revenue and headcount for investment banks at a detailed level. The candidate will contribute to benchmarking analysis and knowledge-building efforts across various financial services sectors. Projects will range from short-term research tasks to in-depth analyses spanning several weeks.

Key responsibilities:

• Estimate product-level key performance indicators (e.g., revenue, headcount) for investment banks and create market size estimates for transaction banking products.
• Analyze macroeconomic data to identify trends affecting investment banking performance, creating accurate forecasts and estimates.
• Update revenue and headcount models based on qualitative and quantitative data from industry sources.
• Maintain and enhance sector databases using Excel and other relevant tools.
• Present research findings and defend analyses to support client initiatives in strategy, sales, and senior management decision-making.
• Conduct effective data searches, gathering information from a variety of resources such as online databases, research reports, and external experts.
• Work on multiple research projects simultaneously, sometimes managing teams of analysts.

Required Experience and Skills:

The ideal candidate will have:

• An MBA or postgraduate degree in finance, business management, statistics, economics, or a related analytical field.
• Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA (preferred but not required).
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to manage large datasets.
• Experience in financial research and analysis, with a minimum of 2 years in the field.
• Familiarity with global capital markets products and investment banking.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for data presentation and analysis.
• Fluency in spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate research results clearly.
• Experience with professional information platforms such as Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters is preferred.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
